This year’s ITB China features over 600 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and regions, alongside 1,000+ hand-selected buyers and 240 media representatives. The exhibition has expanded by 60% compared to last year, welcoming 13 new destinations such as Almaty, Buenos Aires, and Hawaii, and numerous first-time commercial participants including Artyzen Hospitality Group and Huawei.

The Maldives, as the Partner Destination, has significantly bolstered its presence with a pavilion 2.5 times larger than in 2023. The Maldives also co-hosted the official opening dinner, showcasing the islands’ charm to 600 high-level VIP guests with performances and gourmet offerings.

Themed “Thrive in Transformation, Reach New Heights. Together,” ITB China 2024 underscores the importance of adaptability and innovation in the travel industry. David Axiotis, Vice President China at Messe Berlin GmbH, highlighted the event’s pivotal role in boosting the Chinese travel market. “With improved visa policies and increased flight capacity, China’s travel market is showing strong signs of growth,” he stated.

Exhibitors span the entire tourism supply chain, with representatives from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond. Key participants include Expedia Group, Trip.com Group, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, all underscoring their confidence in the Chinese market.

A notable feature of ITB China 2024 is the emphasis on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and Corporate Travel, with nearly half of the exhibitors offering related products. To facilitate business matching, a special speed-dating event is scheduled for May 28, allowing exhibitors to meet face-to-face with high-level corporate buyers.

For the first time, ITB China is also focusing on China Inbound Travel, exploring opportunities for growth in alignment with outbound and domestic trends. A highlight of this segment is the DRV (German Travel Association) & ITB China MOU Signing Ceremony, marking a commitment to advancing China’s inbound travel market.

The ITB China Conference, co-hosted with TravelDaily, features around 100 speakers covering 50 thought-provoking topics. Industry experts from organizations such as Trip.com Group and the European Travel Commission will provide deep insights into the Chinese and global travel markets.

Additional networking opportunities include the 5th edition of Cruise Night, Beijing Night, Lunch & Link with PROMPERU, and the After-Show Sundowner with TUI BLUE Hotels & Resorts. These events offer invaluable platforms for business discussions and forging new partnerships.
