Ghanaians no longer need a traditional visa to travel to Morocco. A new system is now live, allowing travelers to apply online and receive approval within 24 hours. There’s no need to visit an embassy or book an appointment. The portal is available at https://id.acces-maroc.ma/login.
The policy follows talks between Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, during a two-day working visit.
Ablakwa said the move would make it easier for people to travel and do business. More direct flights between the two countries are expected soon.
“Borders shouldn’t divide us. They should connect us,” he said.
The announcement came as Muslims marked Eid. The Minister wished the community well.
This change is seen as a practical step toward closer ties between African countries. It also supports efforts to make movement across the continent simpler and faster.
