Angola has been officially announced as the host country for ITB Berlin 2026, marking a major milestone for the southwestern African nation and for the world’s leading travel trade show, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year.
The partnership between Angola’s Ministry of Tourism and Messe Berlin, the organisers of ITB Berlin, was formally sealed at an official signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel, Angola’s Minister of Tourism, and Dirk Hoffmann, Chief Operating Officer of Messe Berlin.
A Global Platform for “The Rhythm of Life”
Under its new tourism brand identity “Visit Angola – The Rhythm of Life”, the country is set to showcase its diversity, culture, and natural beauty to the global travel industry.
“We are delighted that Angola is the official host country of ITB Berlin 2026,” said Minister Daniel. “This partnership offers a unique opportunity to showcase our vibrant, diverse, and authentic tourism products and invite the world to experience the rhythm of Angola with all their senses.”
Messe Berlin’s COO Dirk Hoffmann praised the partnership, noting that Angola’s dynamic new image sends a powerful signal to the global tourism community.
“It is a special honour for us to welcome this multifaceted country as the official host country for the sixtieth anniversary of ITB Berlin,” Hoffmann said. “The partnership highlights ITB Berlin’s role as a platform that supports destinations in making their tourism potential visible on the world stage.”
Julia Kleber, CEO of the Kleber Group and official representative of the Angola Tourism Board, added that Angola’s dramatic landscapes and rich culture embody its new brand slogan.
“Angola inspires with its wild coasts, vast deserts, majestic waterfalls, and ancient rock formations. Our country embodies the spirit of ‘The Rhythm of Life’ — full of energy, diversity, and warmth,” Kleber said.
Angola’s Tourism Appeal
Still considered one of Africa’s lesser-explored destinations, Angola boasts pristine national parks, endless beaches, vast deserts, and a vibrant cultural scene defined by music, dance, and culinary richness.
During ITB Berlin 2026, which runs from March 3 to 5, Angola will host a wide-ranging cultural and promotional programme, kicking off with a grand opening gala on March 2, 2026, at the CityCube Berlin.

ITB Berlin at 60
The 2026 edition of ITB Berlin will not only celebrate Angola’s debut as host country but also the 60th anniversary of the world’s most influential travel trade event.
Since its inception in 1966, ITB Berlin has grown into a global tourism brand, now complemented by ITB Asia, ITB China, ITB India, and, from 2026, ITB Americas. The anniversary will celebrate the past, present, and future of travel, bringing together tourism professionals, policymakers, and media from around the world.
