The Sunyani Airport is currently not working. The airport has been closed since 2015 due to infrastructural problems; the damages of its runways making it almost impossible for aircraft to land at the airport.
All hope is, however, not lost as the minister of aviation, Mr Joseph Kofi Addah recently promised the people of Sunyani that works are ongoing to ensure the airport would be reopened before the end of 2019.
The Sunyani Airport project was commenced by the Busia government in 1969 and completed in 1974 under the military leadership of General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong.
