How To Prepare Dawadawa Jollof Rice

Dawadawa Jollof Rice (Locust Bean Jollof)

Serves: 3 People
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Level: Easy

Ingredients

  • 8 Large Tomatoes
  • 1 Medium Size Onion
  • 1 Ball Dawadawa
  • 2 Cups Rice
  • 1 Large Smoked Fish
  • 85g Cooking Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash tomatoes and Pepper with a pinch of salt, Cut tomatoes into preferred sizes and blend with the Pepper
  2. Wash and Chop Onions into preferred sizes
  3. Onions should be fried in hot oil, after which blended mixture of tomatoes and Pepper would be added.
  4. Prepare the fish depending on the preferred type be used.
  5. Add the prepared fish to the Dawa Dawa.
  6. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Depending on how soft you want your rice, add a reasonable amount of water and half a teaspoon of salt.
  8. You can now wash your raw rice and add it to the boiling stew.
  9. Leave it to boil for about 30 minutes.
  10. If preferred, Dawa Dawa Jollof can be garnished with vegetables.
