Breeze Airways, the low-cost U.S. carrier branded as the “seriously nice” airline, is on a nationwide expansion spree, announcing a slew of new nonstop and BreezeThru routes across key secondary markets in the United States. The additions, set to roll out between September and November 2025, further cement Breeze’s commitment to affordable, accessible travel to underserved destinations.
New Routes from Rochester, NY
From October, Breeze will launch new nonstop service from Rochester’s Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport to Tampa, Florida (starting Oct. 1) and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (starting Oct. 2), both operating twice weekly. This follows recent route launches from Rochester to Charleston, SC and Raleigh, NC, with BreezeThru connections to New Orleans and Orlando—giving travelers seamless one-plane connections to top leisure spots.
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello praised the airline’s investment, noting Breeze’s role in doubling its presence at the Rochester airport. Fares start at just $59 for Myrtle Beach and $79 for Tampa, making the routes attractive to cost-conscious travelers.
Myrtle Beach Gets New Connections
Myrtle Beach International Airport is also benefiting from Breeze’s network growth, with nonstop service to New Orleans launching Sept. 4 and to Rochester beginning Oct. 2. Airport Director Judi Olmstead highlighted the community’s long-standing demand for a New Orleans connection, calling the move a direct response to local travel needs.
Raleigh-Durham Adds Key West and Manchester
In North Carolina, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) will welcome two new Breeze routes: Key West, Florida (starting Oct. 3) and Manchester, New Hampshire (starting Nov. 6). The airline described Manchester as a “hidden gem,” and while it’s unclear whether the service will be seasonal, it reflects Breeze’s growing interest in lesser-served northeastern hubs.
New Orleans Returns Service to Savannah
Breeze is also boosting its presence in New Orleans, launching a new route to Myrtle Beach (Sept. 4) and reinstating service to Savannah, Georgia (Sept. 5). Fares start at $59 and $49, respectively. “We’re thrilled to offer our guests in the Big Easy more travel options,” said CEO David Neeleman, who emphasized the city’s strategic importance to the airline’s growth.
Akron-Canton Becomes a Breeze Powerhouse
One of the most substantial expansions is happening at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio, where Breeze is adding five new nonstop and three BreezeThru routes this fall. These include:
-
Daytona Beach, FL (Wednesdays/Saturdays, from Sept. 3)
-
Fort Lauderdale, FL (BreezeThru on Wed/Sat; nonstop on Mon/Fri from Nov. 5)
-
Jacksonville, FL (Thursdays/Sundays from Sept. 4)
-
Key West, FL (BreezeThru from Oct. 2)
-
West Palm Beach, FL (BreezeThru + nonstop from Sept. 3)
-
Wilmington, NC (Mondays/Fridays from Nov. 7)
Fares for most new Akron routes start at $49 to $59. The airport, which will soon host a new Breeze crew base bringing over 60 jobs, now celebrates a record 24 destinations—the highest in its history.
Breeze’s Skyrocketing Growth
Founded in 2018 and launched in 2021, Breeze Airways now serves 72 cities in 32 states with more than 275 routes. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A220-300s and offers three tiers of seating: “Nice” (standard), “Nicer” (extra legroom and checked bag), and “Nicest” (akin to first class).
Breeze’s strategy is clear from coast to coast: connect secondary airports directly with popular leisure destinations, eliminate layovers, and keep prices low. As Breeze continues to add cities and frequency, its presence in underserved markets is reshaping the U.S. travel landscape.
