Mount Afadjato

Mountain Afadjato rises to an elevation of 885 meters (2,905ft) and it’s the highest mountain in Ghana. It is located near the villages of Liati Wote and Gbledi at the Ghana-Togo border. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Ghana welcoming a lot of foreign and local tourists each year. You can have tons of fun at the Mountain Afadajato by engaging in hiking to the mountain’s peak, enjoy a bird eye view of the mountain top, seeing the beautiful wildlife (flora and fauna) and the natural vegetation surrounding Afadajato.

Wli Waterfalls

Wli Waterfalls, also known as Agumatsa Falls, is a popular tourist site located near the village of Wli, close to the Togo border. It is the highest waterfall in West Africa located in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region. It also consists of an upper and lower fall. The waterfall measures 143 meters in height. In reaching the waterfall, you would have to walk through the green forest which provides a cool weather and beautiful streams along the way.

Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary

One of the popular Monkey Sanctuary’s in Ghana, the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, is a top tourist destination especially for tourist visiting the Volta region of Ghana. It is located in a village called Tafi Atome.

Being one of the most well-managed eco-tourism sites in Ghana, this monkey sanctuary houses about 300 monkeys (the endemic Mona Monkeys).

Visiting tourists are allowed to lay with the monkeys, feed them and take pictures. The monkeys are very friendly and easily attracted to tourist.

Tafi Atome is about 80 km from the Ho township.

The Amedzofe Township

This is a top tourist destination in Volta Region. The Amedzofe Town is noted for its cool weather throughout the year. The drive to the village, through the stunning Avatime Hills, is scenic and tortuous; it almost comes as a surprise when Amedzofe suddenly appears around a bend.

Mount Gemi, one of the tallest mountains in Ghana is located in Amedzofe. You can reach the top of the mountain Gemi in 20 minutes by foot.

Visitors can hike up the mountain to a lovely waterfall in the valley.

If you want a cool and consistent weather for a holiday, take a trip to Amedzofe Village.

Tagbo Falls

Tagbo Falls is located near Mountain Afadjato, 27 kilometres east of Hohoe. It is surrounded by a thick rainforest housing several species of plants and animals. En route to the falls, you’ll have a beautiful scene of different species of birds, butterflies and insects.

The falls has a cool breeze environment and gives a breathtaking experience. The waterfall falls down in several stages with the last stage being about 60 meters high.
