Antigua and Barbuda Visa Application: How To Travel To Antigua and Barbuda From Ghana

Unless you are a national of a country exempted from Antigua and Barbuda visa requirements, you are required to apply and obtain an eVisa before travelling to the country.

Antigua and Barbuda eVisa requirement

A valid email address

A valid email address is required to receive the evisa once approved. All correspondence with the immigration office is done by email. It is important to double-check or even triple-check your email address to make sure you have entered it correctly. Keep your eyes in the spam folder as well as important emails such as information on your visa update could be caught up there.

A valid travel document (e.g. passport)

Your travel document must be valid for at least six (6) months AFTER your intended arrival date.

A recent digital photograph

A recent passport-sized photograph for Antigua and Barbuda eVisa application must meet the following:

  • A mandatory valid file with an extension type of JPG or JPEG is required. The file must not exceed 512KB in size.
  • The portrait should not be more than 6 months old.
  • Should not be larger than 45 x 35 mm (1.77 x 1.38 in) nor smaller than 32 x 26 mm (1.26 x 1.02 in) in height and width and show a close-up of the applicant’s head and the top of the shoulders.
  • The face should take up 70-80 percent of the vertical dimension of the picture.
  • The portrait should be in sharp focus, of high quality with no creases or ink marks.
  • The portrait shall show the applicant looking directly at the camera. It should have appropriate brightness and contrast. If in colour, it should show skin tones naturally.
  • If submitted as a print, it should be on high-quality paper with high resolution.
  • Portraits taken with a digital camera should be of high quality and resolution and be printed on photo-quality paper.

Supporting documents

Antigua and Barbuda evisa applicants must have their documents scanned as either JPG, JPEG or PDF files. Only a scanned passport and 5 other different documents are required to make an application. If you intend to submit more than five other documents, the total number od documents should not be more than 10 uploads. Each file must not exceed 512KB in size.

  • Birth certificate
  • Letter of employment
  • Marriage certificate
  • Notarized letter
  • Passport
  • Police record
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of funds
  • School acceptance letter
  • Travel itinerary
  • Other

A valid credit card to pay for the application

Payment is the visa fee is part of the online application process and a valid credit card is required to make the payment.

How to apply for Antigua and Barbuda eVisa

  • Click the ‘Apply Now‘ button on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Follow onscreen instructions to complete the eVisa application form
  • Upload your photo and supporting documents.
  • Review the information you have provided to confirm everything is correct
  • Pay for your online visa application.
  • Receive an email confirming receipt of your application and payment.
  • Receive an email containing your EEV travel letter and print a copy for your records. Hold a copy on the day of travelling.

Antigua and Barbuda visa fee

  • Business Visa (2 Years Multiple): $350.00
  • Dependent (1 Year Multiple): $150.00
  • Student (2 Years Multiple): $350.00
  • Work (1 Year Multiple): $175.00
  • Visitor (1 Year Multiple): $200.00
  • Visitor (6 Months Single): $100.00
  • Transit (6 Months Double): $50.00

Important things to note when applying for Antigua and Barbuda evisa

  • The Visa fee is non-refundable even if the application is denied.
  • Constantly check your email address and the spam folder as the immigration department could ask for additional documents.

How long can a Ghanaian stay in Antigua and Barbuda with eVisa?

The maximum period of stay allowed depends on the visa fee paid and further instructions that may come along with the visa. An extension is permitted at a fee.

Other Immigration requirements when travelling to Antigua and Barbuda

Return or Onward Ticket

Ghanaians travelling to Antigua and Barbuda must hold a return or onward ticket. Persons holding one-way tickets may be denied entry unless they hold a visa that permits them to stay permanently.

Cash

Travellers should carry cash enough to cover their stay in the country. The amount of money you are to carry depends on the cost of living of the country you are visiting. A budget of $50 – $100 daily is recommended.

Accommodation

Immigration officers may want to know where you intend to stay. You may be required to provide addresses and telephone numbers of all the places you would be staying.

Tourist Voucher

Holding a tourist voucher or confirmation of tour package booked is a requirement and facilitates entry into a country upon arrival at the border. If you are visiting a friend or relative, a letter of invitation containing their address and telephone numbers is required instead.

The International Certificate of Vaccination

Ghanaians are required to carry The International Certificate of Vaccination, otherwise known as Yellow Card, when travelling. Ghana is among the countries at risk of Yellow fever transmission and as such a certificate to show a vaccination against the disease is required by Ghanaians.

Check Period of stay permitted

Taking note of the period of stay allowed as mentioned above is very important. The period of stay permitted could be different from what the immigration officer granted you. Crosscheck your visa to see the maximum number of stay indicated on it. Staying beyond the period indicated on your visa is illegal and considered overstay. Persons who overstay their visas may be prosecuted, fined, and/or forcibly removed.
