Ghana
The world is heading to Ghana in December for the Year of Return celebrations. Ghana’s President Akufo Addo declared the year 2019 as Year of Return, a symbolic year marking 400 years since the first set of slaves were taken from the coast of Ghana to Europe and America.
Since the launch, celebrities including actor Michael Jai White, Boris Kodjoe, Anthony Anderson, Steve Harvey and Idris Elba have all visited Ghana to take part in the celebration.
Steve Harvey has returned twice and still around until 2020 as he brings his Family Feud show to Accra. MMA world champion Bubba Jenkins is on a flight to Ghana as I type this. Floyd Mayweather has hinted of a possible trip to Ghana.
The Year of Return events line-up for December is enough reason to get you on the next flight to Accra. Rapper Sarkodie hosts his Rapperholic Concert, Afro Nation and Afrochella come are coming to Ghana, and over 20 more concerts and festivals which have all the big Ghanaian artistes on the bill. You wouldn’t want to miss Ghana this December.
And if you miss Cardi B in Lagos, you will be able to catch her in Accra.
The numerous beaches in Ghana, Lakes and its activities; cruising on Dodi Princess II, watersports, jet skiing, etc await you. Don’t leave without seeing the Kakum National Park in the Central region to have a walk on the canopy walkway.
