Niagara Hotel is located in Adabraka, just a few minutes walk from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle (otherwise known as Circle), or Small Dubai. I choose Niagara Hotel because of its location. It’s located in the city center and makes it easily accessible from all the bus stations at Circle. It has a world-class Gym equipped with all the modern equipment one could think of. Guests have free access to the gym which is open to the general public.
Despite its good location and free Gym access, Niagara Hotel might not be a good choice for you if cleanliness and buffet breakfast matter to you.
I have been there several times and I haven’t had to call reception to help me with the air-conditioners. They are always working perfectly. Their wardrobes are very old and in bad condition. If your wears could talk, they would tell you not to hang them there.
Breakfast
I am a regular guest at the hotel and have only taken the breakfast twice; took the first time when I wanted to see what they offer for breakfast, and for the second time when I needed a photo for this review.
Niagara Hotel’s breakfast is limited to fried eggs with two slices of bread, fruit juice, and tea/coffee. If you are used to enjoying a breakfast buffet, then Niagara Hotel isn’t for you. The breakfast is for a guest and any additional guest pays GHS30 ($3).
Staff
The hotel doesn’t have many employees but the few ones are very nice and welcoming. These people who I believe are less than 10 are really dedicated and have a great sense of duty. I only have a problem with the cleaner who cleans only after guests have checked out. If you are staying for days, your room won’t be cleaned unless you probably request it.
I don’t really know who is who. A man who was seen as a chef and prepared my breakfast for the first time was also working as a cleaner during my last stay. Just trying to figure out the connection between cleaning and cooking.
Cleanliness
Do you factor in cleanliness? Then first check your room before arriving at a decision. As said earlier, the rooms are not regularly cleaned and whatever mess you cause in your bathroom, you live with it until you leave. Only one towel is provided and not changed throughout your stay. It will definitely be changed when you request a new one but should that be the case?
Value for money
The many NO ticks in the tables below are a clear indication that there is no value for money. I had no soap, body lotion, and coffee kit in my room. These are basic things that should be available for even a cheaper room. Breakfast is something I skip at the hotel. I keep going back to the hotel because my engagements are around Adabraka and Kokomlemle, which makes its location a perfect one for me.
And to your surprise (not me), Niagara Hotel is actually the best and neatest in the area.
