It is a dream come true for many people who have won the Green Card Lottery, and for those whose family members and friends have won too, they can only dream and wait for their turn.
The anxiety to win the Green Card Lottery can be very nauseating. One wishes there was a technique that could be employed to know for a surety that they would win upon applying.
Unfortunately, there’s no technique but some steps can increase chances your chances of winning.
Get the Photos right
Getting the correct photo is the most important.
The passport pictures that are to be used in applying must be of certain specifications.
The picture should not be older than six months, on the E-DV website, there is a validation link where you can test your picture first, to ensure that it meets the specifications before you submit.
The picture must be 25-bit colour.
The resolution should be 600 by 600 pixels to 1200 by 1200 pixels.
Avoid multiple entries
No matter what, you should try not to file more than one entry. This will automatically disqualify your application and it will be rejected outright. Married couples can have separate entries and list their partners as spouses in each entry.
Take your time, but don’t be late
Don’t register too early, and don’t wait until the last minute.
The system jams at these periods and may not properly send your entry.
When the announcement is made that the website is opened for entries, don’t rush to submit your application too early. A lot of people apply at that time and it is possible for the system to be jammed. Similarly, don’t submit your application too late, too many people apply “last minute”, this even puts some more pressure on the system and it could jam up and may not submit your entry properly.
