ITB Berlin will introduce a revised hall layout for its 2027 edition as construction work continues on a new convention and event venue at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

The international travel trade show will take place from March 16 to 18, 2027. Organisers say the changes are designed to improve navigation, bring related exhibitors closer together and create a better experience for both exhibitors and trade visitors.

The adjustments are linked to the construction of dock9, a new multi-purpose conference and event centre that will replace Hall 9. Demolition of the existing hall is expected to begin in October 2026.

Some exhibitors to move to CityCube Berlin

Exhibitors previously located in Halls 7.1c, 8.1, 9 and 10.1 will be moved to CityCube Berlin.

For the first time, CityCube Berlin will also serve as an exhibition hall during ITB Berlin. The venue will provide additional modern floor space and accommodate larger, technically advanced stands.

CityCube Berlin has separate east and west entrances, a dedicated taxi drop-off point and convenient access to the Messe Süd S-Bahn station.

Organisers said the venue would be particularly suitable for exhibitors operating in technology, services and other sectors requiring more flexible exhibition space.

Changes limited to selected exhibitor groups

ITB Berlin said the new arrangement does not amount to a complete restructuring of the exhibition grounds. Only selected groups of exhibitors will be affected.

The aim is to place businesses offering related tourism products and services closer together. This is expected to create clearer themed areas and make it easier for visitors to locate relevant exhibitors.

Deborah Rothe, Director of ITB Berlin, said the revised layout was not simply a response to the construction of dock9.

She said the changes would allow ITB Berlin to better meet the needs of international exhibitors and visitors while making the event’s main themes more visible.

According to the organisers, the new clusters should also encourage closer interaction among businesses working within the same tourism segments.

Final stand allocations expected later in 2026

ITB Berlin has begun contacting exhibitors affected by the relocation plans.

The organisers are working with individual exhibitors to find suitable alternative spaces. The reassignment process is being carried out in stages, with final stand allocations expected to be completed later in 2026.

Ramona Zaun, Head of Sales and Administration at ITB Berlin, said affected partners were being involved early in the process.

ITB Berlin will also provide an updated hall map, improved signs across the exhibition grounds and relocation information through the ITB app and other digital channels.

New Dock9 venue to replace Hall 9

Dock9 will be built on the site currently occupied by Hall 9. The new facility is expected to support conferences, exhibitions and other major events at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

ITB Berlin is using the construction period to review how space is allocated and improve the long-term organisation of the trade show.

The 2027 edition will continue to bring together destinations, tourism organisations, travel companies, technology providers and industry professionals from around the world.
