The Honjo Scholarship program is open to foreign students who are planning to attend or are already enrolled in a Japanese graduate school. As part of the scholarship benefits, recipients will receive monthly payments from the start of graduate school in April 2024. Additionally, recipients will be eligible for a travel grant to attend international conferences. However, it is important to note that recipients cannot receive other scholarships simultaneously and part-time jobs must be study-related.

Eligibility requirements include non-Japanese citizenship, enrollment as of April 2024 or applying for courses starting from that time, and a commitment to serve in their home country. Additionally, applicants must have basic Japanese conversation skills as interviews are conducted in Japanese.

The application for the Honjo Scholarship in the upcoming session can be completed online on the Honjo International Scholarship Foundation’s website. Required documents include a face photo, academic transcripts, a two-minute video discussing the research plan, a recommendation letter from a supervisor, a research proposal in Japanese or English, and proof of admission or enrollment.

In summary, the Honjo International Scholarship Foundation 2024 offers foreign students a valuable opportunity to advance their education in Japan. With its generous financial support, travel grants, and emphasis on international engagement, the Foundation not only supports academic excellence but also fosters cultural exchange and global understanding. This scholarship is a stepping stone for aspiring students to achieve their dreams in a supportive and enriching environment.
