As of January 27 to February 2, the provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island have issued nominations for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This program allows provincial governments to select the best-suited economic immigration candidates to establish themselves within a province, strengthening their application for permanent resident status in Canada.
Candidates who receive an Expression of Interest (EOI) to apply for provincial nomination must apply to the provincial government, submitting any required documents and potentially paying a separate fee.
There are two ways to apply for the PNP: directly through the program or through the Express Entry application pool. Express Entry candidates receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if they are successfully nominated by a province.
British Columbia, for instance, recently issued targeted draws for Skilled Workers and International Graduates, especially within the tech, construction, healthcare, and childcare sectors. Manitoba also issued letters of advice to apply for those impacted by the current situation in Ukraine, while Prince Edward Island issued 78 letters of interest to individuals in the Labour and Express Entry stream.
These provinces are actively seeking applicants with various attributes such as language proficiency, education, work experience, and other factors relevant to their employment prospects. If you’re interested in immigrating to Canada, you can discover your eligibility for Canadian immigration on the Canadian Visitor Services website.
