A recent survey revealed that a significant number of Kosovar nationals plan to travel to the EU in 2024. According to the survey, 80.3 per cent of respondents have confirmed their travel plans, marking the first year that Kosovar nationals will be able to move without visas to the Schengen area.
Out of the respondents, around 500 people said they are not certain about their travel plans, representing 16.4 per cent of the total. The remaining 3.3 per cent claimed they have no travel plans.
The survey also revealed that the majority of respondents planning to travel in 2024 have planned more than two trips to the EU. Additionally, the founder of Sharr Travel, Ruzhdi Kurtishaj, mentioned that booking rates remain steady, with an increased interest in different European destinations.
Kurtishaj also noted that countries that are geographically closer to Kosovo, such as Greece and Bulgaria, are popular summer travel destinations. Furthermore, Germany is the main destination for Kosovars in 2024, followed by Italy and Switzerland. This is likely due to upcoming sports events scheduled for June, such as the UEFA European Championship in Germany.
In terms of travel companions, the survey found that respondents will mainly travel with their families, partners, alone, or with friends. This indicates a diverse range of travel preferences among Kosovar nationals. With the upcoming visa-free travel to the EU, it is clear that Kosovar nationals are eagerly looking forward to exploring European destinations in 2024.
