Applicants who have been contacted by NVC to confirm the receipt of their petition USCIS can check the status of the petition either online or via phone.
To check your NVC (abbreviation for National Visa Center) status online,
Visit the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx, enter your Immigrant Visa Case Number, complete the captcha and then proceed.
To check on the phone, call the National Visa Center at 603-334-0700. Be ready to call out your Immigrant Visa Case Number and other personal details when the phone is answered.
NOTE: NVC case number is different from USCIS case number or immigrant visa number.
