Finland to Open New Visa Application Centre in Izmir, Türkiye
The Finnish authorities have announced the opening of a new visa application centre in Izmir, Türkiye, making it more convenient for residents of the region to apply for a Finland Schengen visa. The new centre, maintained by VFS Global, is set to open on February 20, 2024, as reported by SchengenVisaInfo.com.
The new centre will be responsible for accepting visa applications, while the decision on the issuance of visas will be taken by the Finnish authorities. Once opened, applicants will be able to book their appointment in advance and fill out the application form online. Additionally, the centre will offer a courier service to return passports to desired addresses within the country once the application is processed.
Applicants are required to submit their applications in person and give their biometrics at the centre. The application centre operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and charges a service fee for each application. It is also important to note that the new centre will only accept visa applications and not applications for residence permits or passports.
In addition to the new centre, the Finnish embassy will soon launch a website where applicants can book appointments, and a call centre will be available in Turkish, Arabic, and English. Turkish nationals applying for a Finland Schengen visa are required to submit various documents including a completed application form, two passport photos, proof of travel health insurance, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient financial means.
The new visa application centre in Izmir will undoubtedly make the visa application process more convenient for Turkish nationals in the region, further strengthening the ties between Finland and Türkiye.
