Italy has been an epicenter for the coronavirus pandemic as thousands get infected on a daily basis and more death recorded in the same period.
Over the period of the pandemic, Italy has come to believe that a number of her cases are imported and related to travels.
So the question then is, has Italy closed down her embassies all over the world in order to stop people from traveling?
One must take note that all Italian Embassies have remained opened and operational in the times of the pandemic but have their activities limited especially when it comes to visa allocation.
Is Italian Embassy Working in Ghana?
The Italian Embassy in Ghana is located in the country’s capital city, Accra in the Greater Accra Region, and a Consulate in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region and all are open and functioning fully.
Is Italian Embassy Working in India?
The Italian Embassy in India is located in New Delhi with some Consulates in other cities. Italian Embassy in India has resumed operation in India since July 2020.
The embassy has however limited its activities to certain groups of people.
According to the Ordinance, entry into the national territory and air traffic from India is only allowed:
- to Italian citizens who have registered residence in Italy as of 28 April 2021;
- to officials and agents, however, named, of the European Union or international organizations, diplomatic agents, administrative and technical staff of diplomatic missions, consular officers and employees, military personnel, including those returning from missions and of the Police Forces, the personnel of the Information System for the safety of the Republic and of the Fire Brigade in the exercise of their functions, only with the authorization of the Ministry of Health or in compliance with validated health protocols.
According to the information available, with the Ordinance of 6 May 2021, the Minister of Health established that starting from 7 May 2021, it is forbidden to enter and transit in the national territory to persons who in the fourteen (14) days before the entry into force of the Ordinance have stayed or transited in India, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka.
