The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies at the Weatherhead Center is excited to announce the recruitment of students and researchers for the Harvard Academy Scholars Program for the batch of 2024. The online application window opened on July 1, 2023 and will continue accepting applications until September 22, 2023.
What makes this program unique is that it is not a short-term scholarship. Successful applicants will be appointed for a period of up to 2 years in a residence postdoc fellowship program. During this time, they will be conducting research on social science-related subject areas and projects. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in seminars, conferences, dinners, and skill development campaigns related to their area of study. Moreover, they will be mentored by top Harvard Academy scholars.
Eligible candidates for the Harvard Scholars Program must hold a qualification equivalent to a Ph.D. or have obtained a Ph.D. degree in the last 2 years in a social science-related subject area or have conducted research in this discipline.
If you are interested in applying for the Harvard Scholars Program, be prepared to create a research-based CV showcasing your top publications and patents. Additionally, you will need to write a 2000-word research proposal indicating your intended area of research, its methodological approach, and execution plan. You will also be required to submit a scholarly writing sample.
In addition to the application materials, you will need to request three professors from your last attended university to write recommendation letters for you. Lastly, you will need to attach your Ph.D. transcript with your application for the Harvard Scholars Program 2024.
