As the weather in Cape Town heads into the usual high summer temperatures, tourists and people traveling to the city need to stay updated with the latest Cape Town weather reports.
Cape Town Weather Reports (Updated Daily)
Cape Town weather – Seven-day forecast from 23 October and heatwave updates:
Tuesday 23 October
The Mother City is set to boil throughout Tuesday, reaching 37C near the outer suburbs. The hottest location within the province is on the Garden Route, with the region of Slangrivier topping 40C.
Cape Town weather for Wednesday 24 October
The scorching temperatures ease by a fraction in Cape Town, but still hit the 35C mark. The hottest location again stays on the Garden Route but lies between both George and Mossel Bay. The region is already experiencing difficulties with wildfires.
Cape Town weather forecast, Thursday 25 October
Good news: We see the mercury dip below 30C in the city. The bad news is that this relief is not universal for the province. The West Coast is likely to experience sweltering temperatures of approximately 42C during Thursday afternoon.
Friday 26 October
The Mother City again stabilises at just under 30C, but the mainland is going to feel the heat once more. Areas just north of Paarl and the town of Worcester will see conditions near the 40C mark.
Saturday 27 October
Unfortunately, it looks as if the heatwave will get its second wind for the weekend. Cape Town tips the mercury towards 33C, but Saldanha Bay looks set to suffer, with a breathtaking 44C on the cards for the region.
Sunday 28 October
Sunday hasn’t come to play nicely, either. If you’re visiting the Cape Winelands, you’ll need a bucket of ice and crisp, refreshing white, because the boiling weather looks set to exceed 40C again. Cape Town, meanwhile, will have to contend with 34C.
Monday 29 October
Finally, we have mercy. That offensive shade of deep purple relents, meaning that temperatures are deciding to cool down once more. Cape Town will have the luxury of being in the mid-twenties, with only the Karoo experiencing “unbearable” conditions.
Tuesday 30 October
Look at this beautiful picture, would you? The heatwave vanquishes by next Tuesday, and instead ushers in a cold front early in the morning. The Garden Route is currently forecast to get the lion’s share of the downpours, but the mercury could plummet as low as 16C in the Mother City.
