Information about the biggest tree in Africa is quite sketchy and largely unreliable as many scientists have over the years claimed they have discovered trees which they believe are the biggest and tallest on the continent but these claims all have no strong evidence of being the biggest or tallest because of the undocumented nature of African forest and trees.
Nonetheless, the most common claims include a tree discovered in Tanzania by a German scientist. The tree stood at 81.5m tall with the scientist arguing that it was the biggest tree in Africa.
Some sources also state a tree found on Kilimajaro to be the biggest tree in Africa measuring at 81m tall.
However The Big Tree in Ghana in which stands at 90m tall beats the above two and could lay claim as being the biggest and tallest tree in Africa, yet, until a much taller or bigger tree is discovered in a forest somewhere on the continent.
