In an exciting collaboration, Albania is set to take center stage as the Official Host Country of ITB Berlin 2025, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. The announcement came at a ceremony in Berlin on November 3, 2023, where a memorandum of understanding was signed by H.E. Vilma Bello, Deputy Minister of Tourism for Albania, and Deborah Rothe, Director of ITB Berlin. The event is scheduled to take place from March 4 to 6, 2025, transforming into a pure B2B show.
The signing ceremony, attended by key figures including Herida Duro, Director of the Development of Tourism Programs, Edlira Zyfi, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, and the ambassador of Albania in Germany, H.E. Mrs. Adia Sakiqi, marks the beginning of a close collaboration between Albania and ITB Berlin.
Deputy Minister Vilma Bello expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “ITB Berlin is an exceptional platform that brings together stakeholders from numerous countries in the German capital. Albania has exceedingly great plans in the coming years and decades. The partnership will certainly give us an invaluable boost and bring us closer to a wide audience.”
ITB Berlin, known for recognizing trends and the potential of countries and regions, sees Albania as a nation with immense potential. Dirk Hoffmann, COO Messe Berlin, commented, “Albania is a nation with this very potential, and we are very pleased to jointly lift the country’s great treasure and provide it with an international stage.”
Having personally experienced Albania’s hospitality and ambitious spirit, ITB Berlin Director Deborah Rothe added, “The host country Albania will certainly enrich ITB Berlin 2025 enormously and win over numerous new enthusiasts for the country.”
Albania, with its remarkable increase in visitors and growing popularity, will showcase its vibrant capital Tirana, picturesque coastlines, turquoise bays, and unspoiled backcountry. The country, known for its appeal to hiking enthusiasts, also boasts an exceptional price-performance ratio.
As the Official Host Country, Albania will present itself in various ways to the B2B audience at ITB Berlin 2025. The festivities will kick off with a gala in the CityCube Berlin on March 3, 2025, featuring traditional folklore and culinary offerings. Throughout the trade show, Albania will have an extensive stand on the fairground, and it is expected to play a crucial role in the program at the ITB Berlin Convention, running parallel to the trade show.
With this collaboration, Albania is poised to captivate the international travel community, showcasing its cultural richness, natural beauty, and tourism potential on the grand stage of ITB Berlin 2025. Travel enthusiasts and industry professionals alike can look forward to an immersive experience that highlights Albania’s unique offerings in the travel landscape.
