Despite having a huge number of tourist visiting the site, the pond is yet to receive any major facelift since it started serving tourists.

In an interview on Citi TV’s U-Tour show which was monitored by Jetsanza.com, Abonwor told Frema Adunyame that the site receives so many tourists and as such authorities should consider having the place revamped.

“I think authorities must help to develop this place, we have so many tourists always coming to this place,” he said.

“Usually the pond gets dry and it becomes a worry for the crocodile to the extent that some end up dying.

“There are over 150 crocodiles in this pond, previously the water used to be large but unfortunately it has dried up and so the crocodiles struggle all the time.

“You can also see the environment, it not the best for a tourist site like the Paga Crocodile pond so authorities must try and do something about it, because this place is a famous place and people come here a lot.”

The Paga Crocodile Pond is under the concierge of the National Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism.
