The UAE Presidential Palace will open its doors to the public on Monday, March 11, 2019.
The directives by the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is to give the public a deeper understanding of the UAE’s governing traditions and values.
The Presidential Palace complex in Abu Dhabi will have a dedicated building for the purpose, a new cultural landmark called ‘Qasr Al Watan’.
Qasr Al Watan will house a Library with a vast collection of books and resources about the UAE, House of Knowledge which highlights Arab’s contribution to various fields of knowledge and interactive cultural exhibitions.

The Palace serves as the official meeting place for the UAE Cabinet and the Federal Supreme Council – the highest constitutional authority in the UAE, and is where official state visits and global leaders are hosted. Until the new directives, visitors were only allowed to catch a glimpse of the Palace from the outside.
When it opens to the public on March 11, visitors will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the UAE’s governing traditions and values, and will be able to explore a well-preserved legacy of knowledge and tradition.
How to visit
Entry fee: Entrance to the Palace and Garden costs Dh60 ($17) for adults and Dh30 ($8.5) for ‘juniors’ aged between 4-17 years-old. Children under the age of three enter free. Access to just the Garden costs Dh25 ($7) for adults and Dh12 ($3.2) for juniors. (Fees in USD are just approximations)
Visiting hours: From 10am until 8pm daily, but on the opening day of March 11, public will only be allowed in after midday.
Where is it: Qasr Al Watan is part of the Presidential Palace, located at the end of Corniche Road in Abu Dhabi past Emirates Palace Hotel.
