Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says participants in the Diaspora Summit 2025 will get free visas to attend the event in Accra.
The summit is scheduled for 19–20 December 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). In a notice dated 2 December, the Ministry advised participants to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate to obtain their free visas before travelling.
The Ministry says the move is in the spirit of Pan-Africanism. It is meant to make it easier for Africans and people of African descent to join the summit and build stronger ties with Ghana and the wider African world.
Registration is open online until Monday, 8 December 2025, at www.diasporasummitghana.org.
The Ministry also notes that some travellers do not need a visa to enter Ghana because of existing visa waiver agreements.
Travellers holding any type of passport from the following countries do not need a visa for Ghana: Barbados, Bahamas, Dominica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Malawi and Grenada.
Holders of diplomatic, official, or service passports from the following countries are also visa-exempt: Brazil, Colombia, China, Cuba, Germany, Sudan, Türkiye, Namibia, Hungary, Iran, India, Equatorial Guinea, St Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Venezuela, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry is urging all registered participants who need visas to contact Ghana Missions abroad as soon as possible for processing.
