To attract global talent and stimulate economic development, Kenya has introduced a Class N Digital Nomad Visa, enabling remote workers to reside and work there. Published under Legal Notice No. 155 of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Regulations, 2012, this visa allows skilled foreign professionals to experience Kenya while contributing to the economy.
To qualify, applicants must meet certain criteria, including holding a valid passport, proof of remote employment, and earning an annual income of at least $55,000 from non-Kenyan sources. Additional requirements include evidence of secure accommodation and a clean criminal record from the applicant’s home country.
Designed to support Kenya’s economic and tourism sectors, the visa prohibits holders from engaging in local employment, safeguarding job opportunities for Kenyans.
