Eurostat Unveils Migrant Integration and Inclusion Dashboard for EU
The European Agency of Statistics, Eurostat, has recently unveiled the Migrant Integration and Inclusion Dashboard, which is an innovative visual tool designed to provide a comprehensive view of key demographic, labor market, education, social inclusion, housing, health, and active citizenship data on migrants in the EU.
This interactive platform empowers users to monitor and visualize over 30 indicators, assessing the steps taken in integration and inclusion efforts, aligning with the EU’s ‘Zaragoza’ declaration on integration and the core principles outlined in the Integration Action Plan and Inclusion for the period 2021-2027.
Based on data provided by the Migrant Integration and Inclusion Panel, in 2022, among individuals aged 20-64 in the EU, employment rates were 61.9 per cent for non-EU citizens and 77.1 per cent for EU citizens. The unemployment rate for the same age group was 5.5 per cent for nationals, 7.1 per cent for citizens of other EU member states, and significantly higher at 12.8 per cent for non-EU citizens.
With data for the EU as a whole and its member states and EFTA countries, the dashboard offers flexibility to explore insights based on country of citizenship or country of birth, along with customization options for selecting and customizing specific countries and time frames. Users can also choose an interactive line or dot chart to suit their preferences.
Eurostat also launched another groundbreaking tool: the interactive publication “Migration and Asylum in Europe.” This resource empowers users to delve into carefully curated statistics, spotlighting key aspects such as population diversity, protection and asylum, irregular migration and returns, and the skills of migrants.
The visualisation is updated automatically when new or revised data become available in the Eurostat database, thus always showing the most up-to-date data. With easy access to source datasets, customized visualization options, and sharing capabilities, the Migrant Integration and Inclusion Dashboard is a powerful tool for understanding and engaging with migration and integration data in the EU.
