The United States was identified as the country with the best international air connectivity for the first half of 2024. According to data by Mabrian, American airlines are expected to have 83.5 million outbound air seats in the first half of the year, an increase of 14.12 percent from 2023.
China, on the other hand, is projected to have 35.1 million outbound air seats, ranking eighth in air connectivity for the year. This is a significant increase of 138.56 percent from the previous year.
The report also highlighted the potential of origin markets and the relevance of analyzing destination-specific opportunities, according to Carlos Cendra, CMO at Mabrian. The data showed a significant increase in connectivity between European countries and China, with Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom experiencing improved air connectivity with China.
The United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and France were also identified as countries with notable increases in outbound air seats for the first half of 2024. The top ten countries with the best air connectivity for the year were the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, United Arab Emirates, France, Italy, China, Turkiye, and Japan.
Japan, in particular, is expected to see a 48.26 percent increase in the number of seats available for travelers. This data highlights the evolving landscape of air connectivity and travel opportunities for the year ahead.
