Antwerp, Liege, and Brussels received high praise for their healthcare services, with 91 percent of survey respondents expressing satisfaction with the services provided in Antwerp, ranking it the third best city in Europe. Liege followed closely behind, with 89 percent of respondents appreciating its healthcare services, ranking the city fifth overall. Brussels rounded out the top ten, with 87 percent of respondents satisfied with the services provided.

Zürich, Switzerland, came in at the top of the list for its healthcare services, with 93 percent of respondents expressing satisfaction. Groningen, in the Netherlands, followed closely behind with a score of 92 percent, and Antwerp secured the third spot with 91 percent satisfaction.

The survey also revealed that satisfaction with healthcare services varied across different European cities. In the EU countries in 2022, almost one-quarter of the population (20 percent) was aged 65 or above, highlighting the need for quality healthcare services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report also noted that member states had higher satisfaction levels (84 percent), indicating that nine out of ten residents appreciate the healthcare services in their city, compared to the eastern Member States, where only five out of ten residents are satisfied (53 percent).

It’s also worth noting that the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava, as well as the Italian cities of Bologna and Verona, outperformed their respective regional averages for healthcare service satisfaction.

On the other hand, the survey revealed that residents in capital cities tended to be less satisfied with their healthcare services (62 percent) compared to non-capital cities (71 percent).

In conclusion, Belgium’s reputation for providing exceptional healthcare services is on the rise, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking quality medical care. With its cities consistently receiving high satisfaction ratings, Belgium is setting a high standard for healthcare services in Europe.
