For those planning to attend this year’s Olympics, there are a few important things to keep in mind. Firstly, certain nationals may need to obtain a Schengen visa for entry into France. Nationals from 109 countries, including China and India, are required to apply for a Schengen visa, and it’s recommended to start the application process early to avoid any delays.

France has also introduced a new digital system for processing visa applications, making it the first EU country to issue visas digitally. This new measure aims to facilitate the visa application process for the 70,000+ attendees expected at the 2024 Olympics.

Tickets for the Olympics have already gone on sale, with over 400,000 available for purchase. It’s advised to buy tickets in advance to secure a good deal, as the prices for certain events can vary. Additionally, tourists are encouraged to purchase travel insurance to protect themselves from any unexpected expenses during their trip.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that expenses in Paris are expected to increase ahead of the Olympics. The prices for metro tickets will nearly double, and there will be a significant rise in the tourist tax for accommodations to help finance public transport.

As the excitement builds for the 2024 Olympics, travelers are encouraged to plan ahead and stay up-to-date with the latest developments to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience in Paris.
