The allure of Germany for international students is undeniable, and our survey aimed to uncover the reasons behind this attraction. With a questionnaire presented to 4,338 candidates, we delved into the methods they use to fund their education and their future plans upon completion of their studies.
Germany’s reputation as a top study destination stems from its provision of high-quality education without tuition fees. The country has exceeded its goal of hosting 350,000 international students by 2018, solidifying its position as a sought-after academic hub.
One of the key questions our survey sought to answer was whether international students could envision staying in Germany after completing their education. The findings shed light on the motivations behind their desire to remain in the country.
Participants overwhelmingly cited the absence of tuition fees and the quality of education as the primary reasons for choosing Germany as their study destination. The availability of courses taught in English, as well as the opportunity to work part-time, were also influential factors in their decision-making process.
In terms of funding, a significant number of students planned to cover their study costs through part-time jobs, parental income, personal savings, or scholarships. Additionally, a large percentage expressed a desire to stay and work in Germany post-graduation, showcasing the country’s appeal as a land of opportunities.
Ultimately, our survey highlighted the strong pull of Germany for international students, from its education system to the potential for post-graduation opportunities. This multifaceted appeal underscores Germany’s status as an attractive destination for students from around the world.
