The Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) 2024 at KAUST is offering an extraordinary internship opportunity for college and Masters students in various STEM fields. This program provides a monthly stipend, accommodation, travel support, and access to advanced research facilities. Applicants must have strong academic records and English proficiency, and the selection process involves interviews and personalized guidance for successful candidates.
The program benefits include a $1000 monthly stipend, accommodation with your own bedroom and bathroom, help with visa and travel costs, health insurance, and participation in fun social and cultural activities. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to use big labs and research spaces.
The VSRP Program at KAUST is open to college students in their 3rd year or higher and Masters students. However, the program is not available to current PhD candidates, existing KAUST students, or KAUST alumni.
Eligible applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4 or 14 out of 20, and proficiency in English is also a requirement. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency through scores in English language tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.
The duration of the VSRP is between 3 to 6 months, depending on the research project. To apply, applicants need to provide their school grades in English, a recommendation letter, a passport, a letter explaining their interest in the program, and a resume (CV).
Interested applicants can apply anytime during the year by searching for an internship program under VSRP on the KAUST website. There are over 100 project choices in 16 STEM areas, each with its own application button. The projects last 3-6 months and include travel, accommodation, health insurance, and a monthly stipend.
The diverse range of internship projects at KAUST covers various exciting and cutting-edge fields, including Cybersecurity, Environmental Science and Engineering, Earth Science and Engineering, Computer Science, and Applied Mathematics and Computational Science.
Applicants will also go through an interview process and if selected, will be required to apply for a visa and make travel arrangements. A travel advisor will assist in getting prepared to start the VSRP program in 2024 at KAUST.
