I know Amsterdam is all about the water and canal beauty but there’s obviously more to it than that.
And while I was done with enjoying the outdoor beauty of it, I decided to check out what Amsterdam has indoors for me. So I headed to the Madame Tassaud’s Wax Museum. I was excited to finally visit the Wax Museum where I could get up close and personal with the icons and celebrities of yesterday and today if not for real.
The good part was that I had already done my homework and purchased the tickets beforehand to avoid the long queues and enter directly in the museum. Being a great fan of movies and celebrities, I knew this is where I had to be at.
I could meet politicians, movie stars, super stars, sport heroes and who not at the museum. Stepping in the world of Art I noticed that this particular Madame Tassaud’s Wax Museum gives a special attention to their local culture where the first floor is full of Dutch politicians, painters, royals and pop stars etc.
The amount of dedication and work that was put into making and then maintaining the wax figures is so impressive that it just blows your mind. Taking care of all the minute details of every personality while designing the wax figure literally won my heart. I took pictures with some political figures like the then US president, Barack Obama and the royal Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.
The wax looked so real that when I showed these pictures to my friends most of them thought that I actually took a picture with the real Queen. Well yes, that’s the beauty of the wax museum, everything seems so real here. Moving on, I also took some pictures with some music celebrities like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson etc.
Have a look at some of the comments my friends made on the picture I had with the Queen.
Even though the tickets are a little pricey for the time I could spend there, I can say that it was all worth it. If you have never been to Madame Tassaud’s elsewhere in the world, you should go ahead and visit this one for sure.
