COVID-19 Entry Requirements For Barbados

The eastern Caribbean island of Barbados has of no doubt become one of the best locations for tourists across the globe to visit, however, certain travel restrictions have been put in place as a response to the deadly COVID-19 wave.

Is Barbados open to tourists?

The island of Barbados best-loved for its attractive tropical beaches is currently open to international tourism.

Barbados COVID restrictions

  • All travellers (including fully vaccinated travellers) must present a valid, negative COVID-19 PCR test from an accredited or certified facility/laboratory taken within 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival.
  • Download the BIMSafe travel app((https://bimsafe.gov.bb/ ) to facilitate submission of your entry documents and health tracking while in Barbados. This app will be accompanied by a tamper-proof monitoring bracelet to be worn during quarantine.
  • All travellers over the age of 5 are required to complete the online Immigration and Customs Form (https://www.travelform.gov.bb/ ) which will be available 72 hours prior to their arrival in Barbados. The form should be completed 24 hours prior to arrival, and preferably include the upload of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers should pre-submit their vaccine certificate on the BIMSafe app. In addition, they need to present proof of vaccine on arrival. Fully vaccinated travellers will have a standard or rapid COVID-19 PCR test done on arrival at the airport or their approved accommodation.
  • Vaccinated travellers coming from or transiting countries of special consideration (South Africa
    Brazil, India) in the past 21 days will be treated as unvaccinated travellers.
  • Unvaccinated travellers are required to take a second COVID-19 PCR test 5 days after arrival.
  • All travellers are required to wait for their on-island COVID-19 test results at government-approved accommodation. Fully vaccinated travellers are encouraged to book a minimum of 2 nights. Unvaccinated travellers are encouraged to book a minimum of 7 nights.
  • All travellers are required to use specially designated transportation providers for their transport from the airport to their approved accommodation.

Social distancing guidelines, mandatory mask requirements, reduced hours for beaches and parks, and limits for large events remain in effect. A curfew is in place from 9 pm to 5 am.

Barbados quarantine rules

  • Unvaccinated travellers who refuse to take take a second COVID-19 PCR test 5 days after arrival may result in being denied entry or quarantined for 14 days. If this second test is negative, the traveller will no longer be subject to quarantine.
